Palliative Care Services Leaflet: Information for patients, families and carers in services across Wirral

What is palliative care?

If you have an illness that cannot be cured, palliative care makes you as comfortable as possible by looking after your symptoms. It offers help for your family and friends too, please download this leaflet for more information.

Who provides palliative care and what do they do?
In Wirral there are four organisations who can help with palliative care:

  • Wirral Hospice St John’s
  • Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust
  • Wirral University Teaching Hospital
  • Claire House Children’s Hospice

You can get advice by calling the Wirral Palliative Care Advice Line:
0151 343 9529 – 24 hours a day / 365 days a year. Choose option 1.
