Junior Doctors’ Industrial Action Update

The British Medical Association (BMA) have announced industrial action will take place for 72 hours starting on 13 March 2023 and ending on 15th March 2023, involving Junior Doctors. The main other health trades unions have paused industrial action whilst national talks about pay and conditions are ongoing with the Government.

The planned strike by Junior Doctors will have an impact on services at Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) at Arrowe Park, Clatterbridge Hospital and the Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital. WUTH is  working on plans to manage around the industrial action and your patients will be contacted in the event that any activity is stood down, which affects them. Patients are advised to turn up as normal, unless advised not to do so by WUTH.

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Arrowe Park will be open and staffed as normal, and NHS 111 will be available online and by phone.
