Update: Urgent Prescription Requests Wellbeing Practitioners – Meet our team Road Resurface 13th December
Can you help our local vulnerable residents?
It is essential that we continue to deliver and support critical services during this uncertain time, lives depend on it. Wirral Health and Care are therefore appealing for volunteers who are willing and able to support local domiciliary home care providers in supporting vulnerable and older people in their own homes. These providers are experiencing staff shortages as a result of the COVID-19 situation.
The tasks/activities volunteers will be asked to undertake include the following:
If you have prior related experience in food hygiene or first aid qualifications/training it is helpful, but not essential. If you able and willing to volunteer, please make yourself known, particularly if you work in a service which has temporarily closed, or you are unable to carry out your usual role. Training will be provided to ensure that you are given all the necessary information, guidance and support to undertake these tasks.
“In many cases you will simply be asked to work alongside existing, experienced care providers as an extra pair of hands. Volunteers will also be given full guidance and support on personal protective equipment and other health and safety measures in line with public health guidance. The health, safety and welfare of our staff and residents is an utmost priority. As with most things, we cannot say there is no risk at all, but every necessary step will be taken to ensure this is as minimal as possible.”
If you are able to volunteer please:
or email covid19enquiries@wirral.gov.uk stating ‘VOLUNTEER’ in the email subject field.
THANK YOU.
