Requesting Letters to Work from Home
It is the responsibility of your employer to make an assessment with regards to your health condition/s, role and working environment. Therefore, unfortunately we cannot provide letters from your GP to give to your employer to enable home working.
Currently the advice from the Government is to avoid any unnecessary contact with other people. This is known as ‘social distancing’ which includes working from home, if you can.
If you can’t work from home, your employer should help you find ways to avoid unnecessary contact.
That could be:
- letting you travel when public transport is less busy
- not asking you to go to big meetings, or arranging to hold them online
- finding car parking spaces for more vulnerable employees
Further information for employees and employers can be found here, https://www.acas.org.uk/coronavirus
Therefore, given that the NHS is now under unprecedented pressure, we feel these letters are unnecessary and would urge you to speak with your employer directly to agree reasonable adjustments should you deem these appropriate.
As a result we will not be issuing letters to these requests.
Please note you can access your full medical record via patient access and print any information you require for your employer. To request your registration letter please email us at WICCG.firstname.lastname@example.org, please provide a copy of photographic identification plus something with your address on such as a driving license, as an attachment.
