Hepatitis B is a type of hepatitis, a viral infection which can cause damage to the liver. Unlike hepatitis A, the hepatitis B virus is not usually transmitted via contaminated water but rather via bodily fluids such as blood or via contaminated needles.
You will need three doses of the vaccine to ensure full protection. The second dose is usually given approximately one month after the first dose. The third dose follows five months after the second dose. After the third dose you may need to have a blood test.
The practice does not administer the Hepatitis B vaccination, please visit the following sites if you require the vaccination.
