Flu Vaccine Queries

There are several types of flu vaccines available and these are recommended for you based on your age. We are required to give the you the most effective vaccine for your age group and are unable to offer other types of flu vaccine if they are in stock.

Our flu vaccine is delivered in batches during the flu season and we will be receiving a new supply shortly.

If you are waiting to receive your vaccine, please bear with us. We will contact you to make an appointment as soon as we are able to.

  • If your primary school age or year 7 (secondary school) child is not in an at- risk group, they will receive their flu vaccine in school by the end of December. Don’t worry if they have missed a school session, school-based vaccine providers run catch up sessions for children who may have missed their vaccination for any reason.  GP practices do not routinely provide the flu vaccine for school aged children who are not in an at-risk group
  • If your child is in an at-risk group and they have not had the flu vaccine yet, they can get this from the GP practice. Please contact us in the usual way
  • The priority this year is to vaccinate people who are most at risk from flu first, including people of all ages who have a health condition that makes them more at risk from flu. People aged 50 to 64 who do not have a health condition that puts them at risk from flu will be offered the vaccine later on and should wait to be invited for a vaccination
